CIRCLE WORK
Strangely hypnotic is this clip of a guy who draws circles. Perfect circles.
(Via Capt. John Heinrichs)
Impressive, but no such thing as an absolutely perfect circle.
Absolutely, perfectly correct! ;-P

Posted by The_Real_JeffS on 2007 01 15 at 03:01 PM • permalinkI probably draw the absolute worse circles. Always, they come out a bit oblong, and with tails. I’m hoping that indicates virility.
Posted by wronwright on 2007 01 15 at 03:16 PM • permalinkHmmm. Maybe that’s “worst circles”, not “worse circles”.
Posted by wronwright on 2007 01 15 at 03:20 PM • permalinkI would’na worry- according to today’s Australian most kids would not even know the definition of a perfect sircle.
Appalling stabdards in Maths and science, let alone an appreciation of mathmatical beauty of the Goldberg variations (as played by Gelen Gould of course!!)
Our maths teaching below India’s
“the low prestige attached to studying science, reflected in university entrance scores that require a higher mark to study fashion design, sports management or traditional Chinese medicine than a science degree. “Are science and Maths the new pariahs?
Note the meeting was held on Davos!!
I was sure we were about to witness Summernatsfootage of the burnout competition. Highly disappointing.

Sure proved you wrong (but it probably helps when your head describes a perfect circle, at least in the lateral plane).
Was it just me being a naysayer or is there a slight teardropping at the bottom of the circle?
Posted by James Hamilton on 2007 01 15 at 10:12 PM • permalinkMy circles would be perfect if it wasn’t for the corners…

The OPs required to enter University are not based on how smart the applicant is and how well they will do in a particular course. It’s to filter bodies from more popular courses. I hope that explains the entry requirements for
silly crapless prestigious courses being higher than popular ones.

Hmmm,
Impressive, but no such thing as an absolutely perfect circle. Only perfect to a specified tolerance.
