CHRISTMAS CANCELLED

First, Spanish villages abandoned centuries-old traditions for fear of offending Muslims. And now:

A school in traditionally Catholic Spain has cancelled Christmas celebrations so as not to offend children who are not Christians, ABC newspaper reported on Wednesday.

The Hilarion Gimeno school in Zaragoza said teachers had put forward various reasons for not celebrating Christmas, but ABC said the worry was that Muslim children might be upset.

Usually in these cases it turns out that Muslims aren’t at all upset, and that the action has been taken by pre-emptive wimps anticipating Muslim anger. Which tells you something about how whipped are certain societies.

  1. But my friends in Barcelona kept insisting after the Madrid bombings and the election that followed that this was not capitulation, that it had more to do with internal Spanish politics, that we were reading it all wrong, that there was nothing to worry about, that the U.S. media (???) was spinning this to make Spain look bad, that relations with Muslims in Spain were fine…

It’s sort of sad to see a country I love so much heading for the shitter…

  2. That’s pathetic. Really, things like this almost make me sympathize with the jihadists who want to take over Europe. The normal (if not laudable) human response to cringing cowardice is contempt, not compassion.

Which also tells you said societies think all moslems are wussie-assed but violent whiners.

Now where would they get such an idea?

  6. A friend of mine at work recently buried her 105-year old grandmother. The old woman had never been in the hospital, was still in command of her mental faculties, and was in good physical health. The death certificate gave the cause of death as “failure to thrive”. What this amounts to is that she had simply lost the will to live. Historical coroners could use that phrase when they issue Europe’s death certificate, no questions asked.

  7. Even tho I’m not particularly religious, I decided this would be a good opportunity to put a creche in the yard this holiday for the first time.

My moonbat kids went a bit nuts, but after all, it is for the children.  If politicians aren’t going to show some spine, I guess we’ll have to.

  9. All my hard work, way back then…in the shitter…Jesus H. Christ! Oh and El Cid is a tad easier then Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar.

For if you say El Cid, really, really loud…people usually say gesundheit. Whereas if you fumble fart your way through, Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, people look aghast, for you usually are eating food, with your mouth open.

AND, what the hell gives, if you people can stand in the face of A bull, (with tight little pants)or bulls (as in running from, just for the hell of it in the hopes you don’t get Gore’d as the case may be)...Why in the hell, are you letting these Moor’es…(yes reference to Mikey, also) screw with your machismo, huh?

Yeah, so what if I MAY have worked both sides…got my name and the legend that I richly deserved left, in the books of history.

  12. Yes, kids the world over are known for being opposed to celebrating Christmas. No one hates Christmas like the kids. Kids are just so totally, knee-jerk anti-Christmas. They dislike the clutter from being given presents. Kids are like that.

  13. But let’s make sure the kiddies’ curricula includes two weeks of ‘Understanding Islam’ studies, when each gets assigned a Mulsim name and recites Islamic prayers.

  18. This is less about any real fears or concerns; rather the multicultural language is a cloak for another battleground of the Spanish Left’s rerun of the Civil War: a good excuse for yet another assault on the post-Franco settlement.

  19. ....but ABC said the worry was that Muslim children might be upset.

So, naturally, Christian children should be upset instead. Wouldn’t want to piss off the little ROPers’ parents. They might start sending the little ones to school wearing dynamite undies.

  20. I hear that Sky (Fox in the UK) had to rename their office Christmas party as a ‘Winter’ party following complaints from two members of staff.

It’s stuff like this that makes me turn a blind eye to the ‘offer the other cheek’ stuff and resort to violence.

However, there are pockets of sanity.

Muslim leader of Kirklees council had these eminently sensible words to say

“For a long time now the council has only put up things which say ‘season’s greetings’ on town halls. There was a strong perception that political correctness was behind this. I think this kind of PC does more harm than good to community relations. This year we will be putting up ‘Merry Christmas’ signs on all our town halls.”

  21. Nah, it’s just the leftoid twats which fill educational institutions around the world who have always been uncomfortable with religion see this as their opportunity to abandon traditional Christian celebrations so they can concentrate on Glowbal Warmening or whatever crap they do believe in.  By knackering Christianity, the twats probably thnk they are unblinkering the children but all they are doing is making it easier for the opposition.

  22. I find that a lot of people who want to ban Christmas “because it might offend Muslims” are just using our Islamic friends as an excuse for pushing their own doctrine of Fundamentalist Humanism. In this way “tolerance” can be a handy excuse for getting rid of any religious expression, no matter how benign or justified, that Humanists don’t share.

  23. I was in the lift at work last week and one of my Muslim colleagues got in.  It’s hard not to remember that she is Muslim, given that she wears a full-on head scarf etc.

She had a few bags with her, and I put my foot right in my mouth when I said, “Doing a bit of Christmas shopping are we?”  I felt like a bit of a dick before I had completed the question.

And she turned around and said, “Yes, and I also got some stuff for Eid, which is right after Christmas”.

She is quite happy to celebrate the holiday along with the rest of us and would probably kick you in the nuts if you suggested that we get rid of a day when she could give and recieve presents.

Talk of it offending Muslims is bunk.  It’s un-Australian to not want a day off.

It is the power of the msm in Australia that frightens me. They have killed the plans for a peaceful protest.
Is there no way we can get back some of the freedoms we have fought for?
After all, we are still in the majority… aren’t we?

  27. #22 rebase & #23 blandwagon, those are VERY good points, thank you. The few Muslims I knew were perfectly happy to keep their business open on Christian or Jewish holy days, & sell beer & smokes to the infidels of ALL skin-tones. Then they hired someone to run the business when it was their time for holy days. No offense offered or taken by any. BUT lately, I seem to be hearing a lot of “Well, no one’s really said anything yet, but what if…” & so get what they want under the guise of inoffense to someone else. Brilliant concept, eh?

Really pathetic excuse for bigotry, far as I can see…
