Kidnapped convert Yvonne Ridley demands respect:
Yvonne Ridley, a former journalist who converted to Islam after being abducted in Afghanistan by the Taliban, said the Metropolitan Police were “terrorizing” the east London neighborhood where the raid was conducted last Friday, Sky News reported Wednesday.
"I don’t think the Muslim community should communicate with the police any more until they start showing some respect,” Ridley said.

The abundant pity that Muslim women inspire in the West largely takes the form of impassioned declarations about “our plight"–reserved, it would seem, for us, as Christian and Jewish women living in similarly constricting fundamentalist settings never seem to attract the same concern.

The only subject Yvonne Ridley is qualified to discuss is Stockholm Syndrome.

We should be especially concerned about “Christian and Jewish women living in similarly constricting fundamentalist settings”. No doubt she’s talking about these women living as members of the al-Dhimma in Muslim lands; the conditions of their existence laid down in the Pact of Umar. Constricting, indeed.

The terrorists don’t trouble themselves at all to avoid killing fellow Muslims. Your ordinary law abiding Muslim who goes to work, raises his family, leads a peaceful life etc is just as likely to be blown up by these clowns as anyone else. He has as much self-interest in helping the police root out these problems.
I have no idea how supportive the Muslim community in Britain and other western countries is to the police. I imagine any support the police is getting from inside is kept quiet, and for good reasons.
But encouraging them not to cooperate is just plain irresponsible.
