CBS LOWER THAN KOS

Four decades ago a pill-happy deviant priest hung out in saunas with a naked kid who is now a former Republican congressman. This story (dragged out to six minutes, apparently) led CBS News on Thursday night.

Interestingly, even Daily Kos didn’t consider this “stunning development”—as Katie Couric described it—worthy of a single post.

  1. Sigh.

  2. Hmm-the link to that picture has the percentage thing and the number 20 between the dead and horse, but apparently the comments program takes that out, so the link may not work for others.

  3. I predict that the media’s rabid interest in ex-Congressman Foley will suddenly dissipate on November 8.  Just call me Nostradamus.

  4. In the Snakebelly-Slither-in-the-Mud-How-Low-Can-You-Go Limbo, I think Kos still takes the coconut.

  5. I’m so bored by this “sex” scandal.  Give me the old days, when the sex was really scandalous.  Give me a Congressman who’s discovered drunk, with an equally drunken stripper, at the Jefferson Memorial!  Give me a President with either an intern or Marilyn Monroe!  Give me something more than a bone, people!

  6. I can’t believe soap opera people, our listening audience,  are interested, but then I can’t believe anything that they’re interested in.

  7. Ahhhh, you see to Katie Couric, it very possibly could have brought back memories of being ‘perky’ around the campus of the University of Virginia.

And as for being CBS LOWER THAN KOS, well, there are a few applications to that phrase,______________________ (fill in the blank, should you choose) AND with Katie being the on camera head, of the flagging organization…

Now with THAT as a feature story, it could possibly bring Katie’s ratings, UP, so to speak.

  8. Hmmm.

I’m looking forward to when a sex scandal actually will have some sex in it.

Probably will require a Democrat in Congress, a donkey and a troop of Girl Scouts.  Then the MSM will tell us it’s a private relationship that shouldn’t be discussed.

  9. I think that Katie should do a comparison between Foley and Gerry Studds.  That’s the name I like to bring up when the Dems are going all shocked and outraged at Foley.

She’s been up there in the ivory tower for so long that I’m not sure she’s able to grasp the reality of living in the real world.

  10. Katie Who?

    Never heard of her.

  12. All I know is that deviant priest stories always cost big money, and the Air Amerika rerun KOSkids couldn’t find a KOSigner.

  13. I was able to see the pic, 91B30, and I had to smile at how appropriate it is.  And the story isn’t even good soap opera.  It’s just lame and sad, which reflects poorly on the ones who keep hammering at it.

  14. I really have no understanding of why “perky” Katie gets paid anything, much less the millions she gets every year to fill her gas tank.  I mean, what the hell special is it she actually does?

  15. Pathetic.  Foley.  Katie.  The fact that we have an anchor sitting at the desk of CBS evening news named Katie.  This drummed up piece of shite passing for a scandal.  Not pitiable, pathetic.  Can we get much lower?

  16. RebaccaH-I was reading the letters to Steyn and one of them said that “many Americans think that resigning from Congress to become a pedophile is a step up.”

Glad I wasn’t drinking anything when I read that.

  17. Did they choose her because her name suggests ‘Cutie’?  I saw her first minutes in the chair and she seemed to be saying
“Here I am! Don’t worry about how the world’s going, just give me your vote to stay in this shop-window job”.

  18. Hey, if you want a REAL sex scandal, how about good Democrat Ted Strickland and his REAL pedophile staffer…?
