CATCH UP CAUGHT OUT

Lisa Oldfield defends herself following the axing of Nine’s abysmal The Catch-Up. Terrible program; entertaining thread.

  1. Bloody glad it’s gone!!

I was close to issuing a Twatwa on all four of them until Nine enacted the Final Solution.

  2. Lisa Oldfield was about the only thing that show had going for it. Although her one [removed]someone just stuck their thumb up my bum) did grow tiresome.

  3. I did but see her (while) passing by (the TV) ... and yet I love her ‘til I (or in this case her show) die.

  7. #4 it was something like The View.  Lisa Oldfield was the right-wing one.

  9. Wow, I’m sorry I missed her.

Forget The Young and The Restless, they should bring back Passions - now that’s a real soap opera.

  10. Anything involving that bitch Libby Gore should have been majorly considered before being allowed to get off the drawing board- the sooner she’s confined to the dustbin of Australian televison history the better.

  12. Libby Gore has never recovered from Mark Brandon Read.

Nor should she be permitted to.

  13. Channel Nine manages to unburden itself of one abysmal show but persists with the equally putrid,“Today”.Now carrying the added dead weight of Lisa Wilkinson one wonders how much longer it can possibly survive. The Sunday Telegraph recently reported that those iconic Socialist Aristocrats,Wilkinson and her old man FitzSimons had acquired that essential accoutrement of the Socialist Upper-Classes,a servant,in the form of a nanny who will care for the junior Socialists while mummy applies her “talents” to that show’s already pathetic ratings.A quick and merciful boning must surely be the best solution.

Ah, Lisa Wilkinson, I got into a phone row with her once.

What an arrogant twat (which seems to be the word de jour today.

  16. Never saw the show, which puts me in a very large majority of Australians. Another few weeks and it will be like Eddie McGuire never happened.

Do you know who I feel sorry for - Kerry Packer. He is watching this from somewhere, probably looking up, and is unable to do anything about it.

Oh well you axed the top rating daytime TV show The Yound and Restless for this??? I don’t see how you could possibly expect a different outcome! That show as pulled more subscribers to Foxtel than anything else in recent history and has also taken it’s sponsors with it over to pay TV. . . .

The oddly familiar style of the spelling and grammatical errors, the lack of commas . . . could “margt” be our old friend Margot from Webdiary?

  22. #20 CB might be onto something there…...although instead of steady eddie, how about adding a misogynist male to tell the womyn when they are speaking rubbish?

And something needs to be done about the name: how does “Beauty and the Beast” sound?

  24. Maybe Bolta jinxed the show and it plummeted beyond all redemption.

Whatever, it was a complete waste of cellulite.

  25. #24 Nah, I think it’s more likely that after he was on they realised how good the show could be and knew they’d never be able to do that kind of quality show again.

PayTV is so enviro-friendly, always recycling Free-to-Air’s rubbish ...
