<< ART CONTEST ANNOUNCED ~ MAIN ~ TIME ON HIS HANDS >>
CARTOON BRIEFLETS
* Denmark—love it or leave it. (Via J.F. Beck)
* Spanish cartoon characters Zapatero & Erdogan have their say on the recent controversy.
* A Moscow museum plans to exhibit the Danish Dozen.
* Observing proper newspaper-style rules, Jim Treacher describes certain images.
* Sorry, Norway and Denmark!
I particularly liked the photo in theage.com.au today showing some shithead in head dress holding a plaque reading “FREEDOM GO TO HELL”.
That’d be a moron and his oxymoron.Posted by pick-your-pun on 2006 02 07 at 10:16 PM • permalinkThe sentiments expressed in “Denmark - love it or leave it” and in the “Sorry” page are remarkable because I have never seen this kind of sentiment expressed by any Australian muslim leader on any occasion.
Is this because there is no Australian muslim with this opinion, or because the media isn’t reporting it?
Posted by Margos Maid on 2006 02 07 at 10:28 PM • permalinkIt has become reasonably clear that the Danish radical Imams falsified at least one cartoon and it seems that it was the causus bellum of the riots we are now seeing.
Calling for them to consider voluntay immigration to Saudi Arabia seems mild. Haven’t they broken any laws at all in Denmark? People have died, property destroyed and that is just the direct damage resulting from their actions.
They need to be in gaol, not the middle east.
Nothing perhaps could be worse than this picture http://weekbyweek7.blogspot.com/2006/02/mohammed-cartoons-young-are-now-pawns.html#links taken in central London during the protests!

I still hope against hope that those cartoons will grace an edition of the Bulletin. At least it would be good to see an article on the real reasons that the cartoons did not get printed.
What we need to see is more polling of public opinion on the issue, both Muslim and non-Muslim. I suspect that the results would be quite telling, and not too sympathetic to the Muslim cause.
Could the Bulletin commission such a poll ?
This will hopefully give the politicians the kind of fire in the belly that we have seen from Anders Fogh Rasmussen and, surprisingly our very own Leftie Rudd (or was that a calculated stunt having a bet both ways between Rudd’s apparent heroism and the Bomber’s opposite stance? Labor would NEVER do such a cynical thing now, would they?)
Ok, tell me if I got this Islam thingy down right. Islam more or less started when Abraham threw his concubine, Hagar, and son, Ismael, out of his tent and made them wander into the desert. In the process, making the first set of pissed off Muslims.
They eventually ended up in Mecca, made a mosque at a place where a black meteorite was deposited, and about 2500 years later Mohammed came along. And Islam has created problems ever since.
Ok, what if ... I take the time machine and go back to that desert. I take a caravan of camels and come upon the unfortunate couple. I then offer them a comfy ride on a couple of empty camels and transport them to Damascus or maybe Memphis. I then set them up with a nice Persian carpet store / shish kebob concession. Then I go to Mecca and filch the black rock which I later install on George Bush’s emperor crown.
Would that solve everything?
Should we at least offer this plan at the UN Security Council?

This extract should be thrust into every obfuscating muslim leaders face and told “this is a repudiation of fundamentalism and true support for your adopted country, come up with something similar or take its advice on emigrating” It is exactly what we need from the Moderates. More power to this bloke and his organisation.
Posted by the nailgun on 2006 02 07 at 11:08 PM • permalinkTim, on 3 Feb you asked about an evil charity to which your $132 could be donated.
Here is an idea which is a follow up on earlier suggestions by Davo, and by Deo Vindice.
If you are agreeable I will donate another $132, and maybe others will join too, so that together we could commission and publish Michael Leunig‘s cartoon in which Leunig defends cartoonists’ right to work without intimidation by the Islamofascists.
What do you say?*sigh*
wronwright, you’re leading in the polls for the Jay Rockefeller OpSec award… did you not get the memo re: Project StoneScone? Remember the BIG red stamp at the top of it…?
Posted by richard mcenroe on 2006 02 07 at 11:26 PM • permalink“bigger than Karl!”?
Stuff the cartoons. Where I come from there’s a word for this.
Sedition! Howling, blood curdling, straight up, in your face, black-hearted, cold dark and cowardly SEDITION !! as bold and high case as it comes.
And wronwright is in it right up to his dastardly plotting eyebrows.
And we have laws about this sort of thing. He he heheha haheheha
Does this mean I get wronwright’s office?
#10—You have the keys? Oh good. I’ve been looking high and low for those, thinking I must have misplaced them. Everytime Karl has sent me back for some Akkadian mead, I’ve had to fill up the cedar kegs with XXXX bitter. And when he sent me back for a Vermeer original, I had to paint one myself. I’m low on royal blue paint. Now I can direct Karl to you. Sucker.
#12 No, I came up with that idea! I get full credit for it. Unless it doesn’t turn out so well. In which case, you can.
#13 paco, if I get to make my own religion, I’m not sure exactly what it would entail. But I think a prohibition on women from wearing any clothing on top would be part of it. And beer and pretzels would be part of the sacraments. Maybe yodelling hymns.
Posted by wronwright on 2006 02 08 at 12:53 AM • permalink#11- I’ll put in $132 as well.
Cant see Leunig putting his life in danger for a cuppla hundred bucks tho…Posted by Lucky Nutsacks on 2006 02 08 at 06:55 AM • permalink#15 - Whom do you think he’s been going to to fix the problem of the inferior ‘mead’ you’ve been bringing him lately? It just doesn’t go as well with jarlsberg as the real stuff. Not. At. All.
I tell you, the things one has to do to get into wronwright’s “Tome of Bloody Vengeance to be Taken Someday ... Someday.”
