CARBON GENERATED

Australia’s state environment ministers gathered over the weekend to discuss carbon trading - in sunny Cairns, 1700 kilometres from the nearest capital city. They like the warmth.

  1. “They like the warmth.” Yeah, because it’s cold down here in middle Australia, where the snow season has started early, the fish have gone off the bite because the water is down to 15 degrees a month ahead of schedule, and the forecast is for big rain. Such a global warming event.

  2. A interesting snapshot of the wacky world of global warming. Incidentally, that’s a fine blog you linked to, Tim; some very funny stuff. I particularly enjoyed this nature photo.

  3. In re: #2: Well, I guess, since I don’t have that firefox thing, I’m still stuck checking my own spelling. That should be “An interesting”, etc.

  4. “Sunny Cairns’ was rainy all weekend so the parasites didn’t exactly get their weather wish.

    That’d be karma.

  6. The media hasn’t highlighted it but isn’t Beattie announcing his own environmental policy a few months out from a federal election just another labor stunt designed to weaken the Liberal image. Bracks playing ‘my ball’ with Vic water is another. Rann is firing blanks and Carpenter and Lennon have their own problems. Watch for Iemma’s move of support.

  7. Well, you didn’t expect them to gather someplace cold, did you?  How would they be able to get in the mood for discussing global warming, then?
