BRIGGS OPPOSES PIGS
Violent peacenik Christiaan Briggs, currently facing a few years inside following boozy bashing antics, is quite the lad. He doesn’t like the pigs. Fond of a drink, though.
UPDATE. Briggs is actually very warm and friendly:
Accusations that a New Zealand peace activist assaulted a rising rock star in London are completely out of character, says a former friend.
Angie Denby, of Napier, knew Christiaan Briggs when they worked for the Greens in the city and described him as warm and friendly.
Except when he’s punching people in the face.
It also looks like he’s fond of skirt judging by his album. Let’s hope the Crown Attorney (or Q.C. or whatever) visits the guy’s online photo album to show his twin vices.

Of course anyone who reads his website can see for themselves that this is completely untrue. He’s a hate filled nut, it seems entirely in keeping with his character.
His public writings are indeed hate-filled and contemptuous of establishment law and order. My private correspondence with him behind the scenes a few years ago would confirm what his friend said about him warm and friendly as a person are also true. He is a Jekyll and Hyde character: polite in person but ruthless in politics. I bet the personality altering effects of large amounts of alcohol don’t help him, either. We’ve all seen pussycats become violent arseholes when exposed to too much beer.
I was extremely disappointed to see his blog entry about the London bombings last year - he basically said that the dead deserved it for not opposing Tony Blair’s embracing of the Bush War Machine. At least his antics on the bus have prevented him having his two cents on the anniversary of that event.
