BOOK SEEMS URGENT
Seattle’s John Marshall shills for Tim Flannery:
What a difference a year makes!
Tim Flannery passed through Seattle last year when warnings in his book about climate change may still have seemed debatable. Now, in the wake of Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” and more dire global weather developments, his book seems more urgent, even prescient.
It does? Perhaps Marshall could list those “dire global weather developments” of the past year ... more polar bears? Fewer hurricanes? Hideous Canadian mildness? Meanwhile, Flannery’s book has found its proper home:

And yet another dire global weather development, via Ken S.:
Recent torrential rain and monsoons in northern Queensland have provided some rare relief for the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.
The poor conditions have significantly reduced ocean temperatures, making them the coolest for up to five years.
Hmmm, this is interesting (if off-topic)
Oops! Huge Distant Galaxy Actually Small and Close
“Astronomers are rubbing their eyes after discovering that a galaxy assumed to have been a giant for the past 23 years is in fact a dwarf, according to new observations.”
Gee, scientists getting something wrong in their field of study? Unpossible. Good thing climatologists could never be wrong.
Religion/Mythology
LOL! Either Eli the photographer or someone in the bookstore has a sense of humor….

The reason Queensland has been so dry is because the water is already cooler than average, and has been so for oh, about five years, if not for the last twenty. This year, as the article helpfully notes, is cooler still. I wonder what the reef park authority actually told the dolt. As for the torrential rain, it is still below average for this wet season. What a total prat.
In other, late-breaking, gorebull worming news: Polar expedition cancelled due to cold!

Among those who attempted to prevent the film being shown at all was the Liberal Democrat spokesman on the environment, Chris Huhne, who, without having seen the programme, wrote to Channel 4 executives advising them in the gravest terms to reconsider their decision to broadcast it.

If you’re so sure of your position, why are you afraid of dissenting views?

It sure is. Compared to last year with cyclone Larry we have not been receiving anywhere near the heavy downpours that we would expect. I am missing the beauty of the many summer waterfalls that usually spring up on the road between Cairns and Port Douglas.
The jury’s still out on whether you’re an idiot or just a very clever fool. Personally I’m sceptical. I think you’re just being paid by someone to run this campaign. That’s just a gut feeling, based on anecdotal evidence. We don’t have any verifiable proof that you’re on some payroll to run this bullshit. But until sound evidence to the contrary comes to light, your overall credibility must be questioned.

I used an article from the SMH in 2002 to demonstrate that, really, things haven’t changed much.

You’d think that when Miranda upped the ante from lame drive-by one-liners, lazily swiped out of the shallowest tide-pools of tired lefty thinking, to multiple complete sentences, he/she/it would’ve thought to add content as well, but ... well, obviously not.
Maybe someday, Miranda. We’re all pulling for you!

probably Big Oil. Chavez, no doubt. I’ve heard that he and Tim get along famously. And, I’m on the payroll too. In fact, we all are!
That’s just a gut feeling, based on anecdotal evidence
either it’s a gut feeling or it’s based on anecdotal evidence. Make up your mind you stupid cow.

Obviously you don’t undertand peer review as well as the zealot AGWers.
“The real scientist doesn’t let his feelings for the debate impact him from telling the truth whichever side it favors. He is like a judge who will convict his brother. Like a referee who calls the fouls equally on the team that he favors as on the one he despises. What matters is not which side he likes, but what is true. He cares about shedding light, bit by bit in a dark room. This is real science—this is intellectual honesty.”

Last I checked, no Judge would be allowed to preside over the trial of his brother on the grounds that no humand being on this Earth could be expected to leave his feelings aside.
This doesn’t apply to the Apostles of Gore though, the “True Scientists”.
Alert! alert! - climate change alert A massive cold-water eddy has developed off the coast of Sydney.
Things are really bad:
Sea surface falls by almost a metre!!!
Ocean currents have changed course!!!
The whirlpool stretches 200 km across and 1km down to the ocean floor!!!
The water 400 metres below the surface is six degrees centigrade colder than normal!!!
The colder water can bring down the temperature at Sydney beaches by several degrees!!!And we all know things could get worse. So buy your carbon credits now to save your ungodly souls.
#28 - good point

We think they’re just being paid by someone (or many) to run this campaign to further their own malicious agendas. Now that’s just a gut feeling, based on anecdotal evidence.
