BODY BATTLE

Iraq Body Count’s Joshua Dougherty launches into Lancet enthusiast Tim Lambert:

Tim, you’re a bald-faced liar ... do you really need to be such a monumental fraud and liar to puff up this Lancet study?

I’m sure one side or the other is winning this dispute ... but neither can agree on the score.

  1. Well he is bald.

  2. I just had a flashback to the first season of SNL…

    Jane, you ignorant slut!

Well, they are comedy of a sort.

  3. Bald, and a liar as well.

Well, maybe just self-delusional.  But I’d bet on just a plain liar.

  4. Lambert has been un-hinged for years. Joshua has a better chance of getting reasonable dialog out a four year old.

  5. As Wellington J. Wimpy used to remark, “Let’s you and him fight!”

  6. Since they can’t agree on that score, the baseball game is Cardinals 5, Tigers 0 heading into the top of the ninth inning.

Although it probably seems like 655,000 to nothing to Paco.

  7. #6. I don’t understand it. I played my lucky tune from my ITunes library - Barrelhouse Boogie (Harry “The Hipster” Gibson, 1944) - which has always led to a victory for the Tigers. I sense a disturbance in the Force.

However, history is on my side. The Tigers were down 3 games to 1 in 1968 against the Cards, and they came back to win three straight - two of them in St. Louis.

  9. Someone smack the Seppos.  It is now Cricket season.  We don’t car about steroid-ball.

  10. Clearly Lambert needs to grow a beard.

  12. Steroids? Nonsens! It is quite normal for a guy who pitches 87 miles an hour in his late thirties to pitch 93 miles an hour in his early forties.

  13. Baseball? No where near enough physical contact to qualify as a real sport.

UFC, Pride Fighting, Boxing, American Football, Australian Football, Rugby.

    Those are sports.

  14. Damned antipodean barbarians, no use trying to bring in civilizing influences via Fox Sports.  Although I have now developed a theory which might stir some interest: it seems that the mysterious substance on Kenny Rogers hand the other night was in fact contraband vegemite.

  15. #14: Cricket. Isn’t that the sport where men dressed as male nurses swat at a ball with a paddle over several days, with periodic breaks for tea and cucumber sandwiches? I think the word “century” figures in it, for rather obvious reasons.

Grimmy, my dear fellow, you are so frequently correct in your assessments of everything else that it pains me to have to inform you that you are talking through the back of your neck. There is probably no action in sports more difficult than hitting a baseball thrown at 100 mph, which, I would argue, is a definite form of “contact”.

91B30: Vegemite use by Kenny Rogers confirmed. Doctors have announced that they may have to amputate.

  16. Vegemite pitches?  Bah.  “Millions for steroid defense, not one cent for yeasty tribute!”

    Posted by Carl H on 2006 10 25 at 09:31 AM • permalink

  17. Federal investigators are also looking into the possibility of criminal charges against Rogers, since the use of vegemite may constitute a violation of the Patriot Act.

  18. #15, paco:

Sorry brother, but everyone knows baseball was invented as a communist plot with the goal of boring Americans into submission.

And proper sports “contact” involves either someone getting dropped on their head or punched in their face.

Hey, man, have you seen a baseball game recently?

  20. Hey, man, have you seen a baseball game recently?

You talking about those bench emptying free for alls that sometimes happen?

If so, too rare and…well… none of them is really trying to be lethal about it. Mostly just being pissy with slaps, grabs and an occasional swing with a closed hand.

  21. Instapundit has linked to this post - nothing extraordinary for Tim B. but must be nice for Tim Lambert to get the extra exposure..even if it is for being a bald faced liar.
