BLUE STATE ATTACKED

Via reader Nic, here’s a link to images from the UNICEF Smurf snuff movie mentioned earlier. Apparently they were attacked for singing.

  1. What a low-grade production. It isn’t even animated.

    I demend better smurf-snuff!

  2. Totally justified pre-emptive strike in my view; Smurf singing is a weapon of mass discordance.

  3. I’m reliably informed that the violence will continue until the Smurfs get their own state.

  4. Many years ago a major amusement park had a Smurf ride similar to the It’s a Small World After All ride at Walt Disney World. The ride involved parents sitting in moving boats with their small children (try getting a teenager to go) and being subjected to two minutes of nonstop lalala’ing by the infernal blue devils.

I can tell you if that amusement park had a stand that sold videos of the Smurk snuff commercial at the end of that ride, they couldn’t keep the videos on the shelves.

(I still hate those bastards, god forgive me but I do)

  5. I think the smurfs must have been on holidays, engaging in culturally unnacceptable behaviour. They therefore deserved everything they got, according to some of the attackers.
I have an uneasy feeling that they will be back, at some point. And they might have been transformed, by traumatic radiation on that oceanic atoll, into something bigger, and meaner; and, a darker shade of blue.

  6. I still think that UNICEF is a clueless, cretin staffed organization that will never ever get a nickle from me.

But God knows that I fully understand why the Smurfs received saturation bombing in retaliation for their singing.

  8. You know, I clicked on the movie link then decided I couldn’t stand to watch anything to do with Smurfs since I’ve always hated that show - so much so that I wouldn’t let my kids watch it even with the sound down.  So I clicked stop and then, from somewhere out of the ether (but with this page’s URL) a movie type thing landed in my browser and started playing. It showed a succession of still images but had voiceover - in a language that sounded vaguely German - and showed a little Burundi boy with both legs amputated at the knee and bandaged stumps.

I have no idea what to make of that.

  9. How can we be sure if it is not in fact the devine hand of the Prophet, smiting the infidel Smurf for their licentiousness, depravity and sheer affrontery to the Qu’ran?

Even without this clear evidence of their perversion in the face of Sha’ria, all but one removes the hair from their faces given by Allah, and the Smurfette has never been seen covering her immodesty in a Smurfkha.

Allah Akhbar on these evil blue dhimmis.

  11. Isn’t this a rip-off of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”?  At least the American version only had the Who’s getting burgled, not bombed.

The one I remember was at Kings Island, near Cincinnati. Better known for having featured in an episode of “The Brady Bunch”.

  14. The Smurf film appears to be re;ated to a Unicef program using cartoons to promote a panoply of “rights” that would better be termed aspirations.  Here are a few:

. Children have the right to a loving and caring family
. Children have the right to attention from both parents
. Children have the right to privacy
. Children have the right to express their opinions
. Children have the right to play
. Children have the right to a drug free world
. Children have the right to culturally sensitive education

  15. You’ve got to hand it to the Peyo heirs. There’s a Smurf movie currently in production set to be released in 2008 as the first part of a trilogy.

They turned the ride into a Scooby Doo ride.  Now I’m beginning to despise Shaggy and Alan. (But I’m still hot for Daphne and yes, even Velma).

  19. I hate Smurfs.  Smurfs are minions of the devil.  Kill them.  Kill them all.

By the way, how many more people who post here live near Cincinnati, Ohio?  What are the odds?

  21. RebeccaH, maybe not many.  Cincinnati is an extremely conservative city, having been founded principally by German immigrants.  We don’t necessarily cotton to strangers and the fact that Tim Blair’s blog is populated by antipoleans would become a bit unnerving to most.  (We also didn’t like the Brady Bunch coming to town or the Partridge Family either, being that they are long hair hippie types from California, no sir).

But to its credit, Cincinnati and its adjoining counties can state that it provided the margin of victory that allowed George Bush to win reelection.  And no less a notable than Karl Rove has visited the city to express appreciation to its citizenry.

Did he express appreciation to me personally?  Well, no, not in so many words.  But he did look at me once and I seem to think he gave me a nod of approval.  At least I like to think so.

(cue to Richard McEnroe for rebuttal)
