BEAR EATS
A note from Harry Bergeron: “Panty-wetting Greentards are having trouble sleeping after Knut did what polar bears do - kill fish, eat parts of them, and leave a mess.”
UPDATE:
• The Independent: “Knut is a psychopath and will never mate.”
• Secular Apostate: “I agree that disemboweling live fish may seem crude to the Western envirophilicus effeteicus eye, but Knut is from a different culture. A culture where bloodlust is the highest good. And who are we to judge?”
• Aaron Hotfelder: “Knut, the once-cute celebrity polar bear turned vicious killer, is at the center of a controversy over his brutal slaughter of ten carp at the Berlin Zoo.”
• Political Scientist: “What odd and mutually contradictory ideas people have about animals.”
• ZombieSkittles: “He’s a FISH KILLER!”
UPDATE II. Flocke the bear - she’s the new Knut - lunges at a cucumber sandwich:

Well if knut is to be condemned for a few carp, then Greenpeace should be giving the jap whalers medals for preventing the mass genocide of plankton.
It called “nature red in tooth and claw” for a reason envirotards.

Posted by Wimpy Canadian on 2008 04 09 at 06:02 AM • permalinkso, the greenists objected to Knut being hand-reared because it was unnatural; now they’re objecting to him eating fish because its natural? I can see a job for Dr grant blashki doing a bit of counselling with Knut; hopfully it will be face-to-face, and then Knut can engage in a bit more natural behaviour.
The Frankfurter Allgemeine news website reports that Knut “senselessly murdered the carp”, fishing them out, playing with them and then leaving the remains.
How quaint. I’m sure Knut enjoyed his game.
Many many years ago now, when I was at school this form of narrative was referred to as personification. And boy, did we get into trouble if we mindlessly personified some act to the point of projection like here. Now what idiot would ascribe his own (presumably) human values to this animal? I suppose the answer is a Greenie, but sometimes I do wonder how people can be so stupid.
#4 cohenite - you’re right they need to engage in an up front close personal counselling session with the bear. And if not with Knut, then perhaps with these .
So the Greens want the bear to be left to it’s natural devices, but complain when it actually behaves like a bear?
I see their point though. The bear is supposed to dive into the water, and flail about in a rather drowning-like manner, and complain that it’s ice is melting. That’s how proper bears behave.
Of course Timothy Treadwell and his girlfriend Amie Huguenard liked to feed bears too. linky
Posted by stackja1945 on 2008 04 09 at 07:13 AM • permalinkAnd what about young Flocke? Rejected by her parents, it’s only a matter of time before she murders her first fish. All the counselling and special ed classes will be for naught, I fear. But then I’m just a RWDB.

What is it that greenies don’t understand about wild, as in wild animals? I reckon all greenies and gaia sprouting, turnip-eating nits should have to spend a year in a nominated hot/cold widerness so they can gain a practical insight into what a bitch mother-nature really is.

I think that green experience has already been made into a documentary.Reminds me of the greenie nutjobs who try to turn dogs into vegetarians.
"Knut “senselessly murdered the carp”, fishing them out, playing with them and then leaving the remains. “
Sob. Is this the world we created?

And Pandas are just Emo-Polar Bears.
I quote Johnny Rico from the movie ‘Starship Troopers’:
Kill them! Kill them all!
Posted by Toiling Mass on 2008 04 09 at 09:18 AM • permalinkFor God’s sakes, are they trying to make us miss when they were Nazis? Seriously, though, this kind of misplaced sentimentality and unrealistic expectation of the way things ought to be is part of what led to the rise of the Nazis in the first place. If the Germans weren’t to be trusted when they were into uniforms and order, they’re even less to be trusted when they are into “nature” and cute, furry animals who are supposed to behave like cartoon creatures. Watch that country.

For Knut that would also mean Esquimaux hunting him down to make a cozy rug.

I know just the place: The Northeast Greenland National Park would fit perfectly for any greenie who would like to experiment in sustainable living. A stay wouldn’t have to be that long, just through the night from September until the sun rises sometime during May.
Heck, this might be an opening for a brand new tourist industry. I can just see the billboards:
“Discover Nature as it was before Global Warmening.”
“A once in a lifetime experience (literally)”
“Plenty of opportunity to watch the behavior of cuddly polar bears in the wild - fast-track shoes will be provided free of charge.”
Yep, this should be a sure thing. I’m gonna make millions on this!
You have to remember that these people actually BELIEVE that nonsense about humanity being the only animal to kill when it isn’t hungry or threatened.

My uncle an I butchered a buck on Halloween several years ago. The air was thick with Bambi jokes. We hung it from his daughters swing set to facilitate the process. None of the neighborhood kids seemed bothered in the least. Of course, this was in the rural south not Berlin.
Believe it or not I consider myself something of an environmentalist but I want nothing to do with the modern green movement.
Wish I could change my nic to Eco Redneck. The Frankfurter Allgemeine news website reports that Knut “senselessly murdered the carp”, fishing them out, playing with them and then leaving the remains.
“Senselessly murdered the carp...” That reminds me of the Gary Larson cartoon with a huge crocodile in court, in the witness chair. He says to the prosecuting attorney, “Of course I killed him in cold blood. I’m a reptile, you fool.”
“Knut is a psychopath and will never mate.”
Speaking of things that smack of projection. Well, at least the last part is. Probably tough to get laid when you swear you understand what animals are thinking about…

You must experience this before you die!
The most alarming thing about this is the emerging possibility that there may be other bears out there killing fish. If there are, this raises the mind bending possibility that this drowning polar bear thing is as much about karma as global warming.
Someone ought to do the science on this stuff.

Posted by Young and Free on 2008 04 10 at 02:06 AM • permalinkI can’t figure out why the FAZ & BBC are so shocked. I remember reading years ago that animal researchers realized that polar bears killed for fun. So, the psychopathic, doomed-to-live-alone Knut acts like...a polar bear! I’m shocked, shocked!
A few years ago an animal rights activist went to Pamplona to stop the running of the bulls. Unfortunately for her, the bulls didn’t realize she was one of the “good guys” and one bulled gored her. She was quoted as saying that she was upset about the goring since she was only trying to help the bulls. She seriously expected the bulls to know what she was trying to do! Guess she didn’t speak Spanish with them?
