AIR BLAIR
Teased to distraction by gliders drifting overhead during her golf game this week, my mother gave in and took to the skies:

Barbara turns 70 next month. Never lost her love of flight, even after her husband was killed flying 37 years ago. No point living scared.
“Blair appears to have absolved the nation of any responsibility for their individual carbon emissions and sanctioned the rise in air travel” the guardian is onto your mum tim- oops- wrong blair- my bad

I’m scared to death of heights, but I love flying - in small planes, especially - and I would love nothing more than to go for a long, brutally fast ride in a P-51. ( I’d just make sure I had eaten nothing that day, so if I heave, it’ll be dry :^) )

I’m in charge of signing out humvees, M1A2’s, Apaches, Cobras, and a few other vehicles I would rather not say much about. I hate the job. People tell my “helper” MarkL they have authorization to borrow one, but they lie. And then they bring them back late. And more often than not, dirty, muddy, dented, and sometimes covered with high energy scorch marks.Oh, that reminds me. Andrea, are you or are you not bringing back that Bird of Prey Sgt. Mom handed over to you? Inventory is this week and those bean counters carry those torture do hickeys like the one that the evil Mr. Spock used on the hapless transporter technician. They hurt!

Last week, Sydney’s dawn skies were filled with hot air balloons pumping out symphonic music to wake everybody up. It occurred to me that ballooning would be a great experience. I intend to book this week.
Onya, Mrs B - my mum phoned me on Saturday night to tell me she had won the Edie Smith Award at the ASF Conference. She was still stunned!
wronwright—you’ve had that outsanding hand receipt for the Aurora for three months now. Don’t think that hasn’t been noticed…

Wonderful Tim. She seems like a special person. You are very fortunate - no, blessed, to have such a special mother who desires to live life at its fullest. I’m sure she’s an inspiration to you.
