CHOLO BANGLADESH
What was Will Swanton saying the other day?
The doddles against Bangladesh will last about two days each and probably involve only one hit each for the Australians. Runs will flow freely. Taking the new ball for Bangladesh will be some bloke who goes by the name of Shahadat Hossain. It may as well be the Blue Wiggle ... any batsman who doesn’t average 100 against that mob shouldn’t be let back in the country.
We’re now deep into the third day, and so far the only Australian coming home is Adam Gilchrist. This Test has been brilliant; Australia’s late-innings fight back and Brett Lee’s current attempts to vaporise Bangladesh’s top order even allow for the slight (very slight) possibility of an Australian win. Rezwan is enjoying the match of his life:
This is just awesome. Headlines like this only look like dreams: “Australia Crumbles to 145-6, Trails Bangladesh by 282 in Test”.
Welcome the zest of the youths. I only wish that the dream is not shattered anytime soon. There are three more days in the play.Listening to Cryptic Fate’s song “Cholo Bangladesh khelbe amar desh, cholo Bangladesh dekhbo amar desh” (Go Bangladesh lets play the game, Go bangladesh we’re always with you). Don’t spoil my mood, please.
The Australians are doing their best not to, Rezwan; three chances lost in the lunch session due to defensive fields and a straightforward miss from Shane Warne.
