BAD REVIEW REVIEWED BADLY
The NYT’s Frank Rich reviews Hillary! The Prime-Time Special:
The untold story in the run-up to Super Tuesday was Hillary Clinton’s elaborate live prime-time special the night before the vote ...
This show was a dramatic encapsulation of how a once-invincible candidate ended up in a dead heat, crippled by poll-tested corporate packaging that markets her as a synthetic product leeched of most human qualities. What’s more, it offered a naked preview of how nastily the Clintons will fight, whatever the collateral damage to the Democratic Party, in the endgame to come.
Catty Frank sure upset the NYT’s pigeons:
• “The Democrats need to be together on this mission...and columns like yours, do the country a disservice.”
• “This article is an outrage to thinking democrats.”
• “Mr. Rich has lost all credibility for me regarding the democratic primary candidates. I no longer read beyond his first paragraph.”
• “Rich has joined the likes of Maureen Dowd and the Chris Matthews misogynst crew at MSNBC.”
• “This isn’t opinion, Mr. Rich, it’s pure invective. I am simply astounded at the length of the long knives that are now out for Senator Clinton.”
And this, from a furious Clinto-Paulian:
• “I used to think only the extreme right was capable of extreme hatred, but boy I was wrong ... a whole bunch of silent democrats would rather sit out than ever vote for Barack. Speaking for myself, if Hillary was not on the ballot, I would write in Ron Paul’s name.”
The division of America continues. Obamanian Joel Stein rouses his troops:
The best we Obamaphiles can do is to refrain from embarrassing ourselves. And I do believe that we can resist making more “We Are the World"-type videos. We can resist crying jags. We can resist, in every dinner argument and every e-mail, the word “inspiration.” Yes, we can.
They’ll be doing better than Deborah Cameron.
