AMERICAN INTERFERES
Madness is abroad (via the Sun-Herald; no link available):
Former US Vice-President Al Gore will spread his environmental message at an expensive, but carbon neutral, lunch in Sydney on September 19 ...
A table of ten will cost $10,000, or $25,000 for a VIP table that allows guests a meet and greet session and photograph with Gore.
Organisers said more than $1 million in tickets had already been sold for the Sydney and Melbourne lunches.
Bob Brown will be furious at this obvious interference during the weeks before an Australian election. Meanwhile, Gore is determined to rescue the planet:
[His] new book, entitled ‘The Path to Survival’, will be published on April 22nd next year, to coincide with Earth Day, and according to publisher Rodale Books, will pick up where Gore left off in ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ by offering what it describes as “a visionary blueprint for the changes we should make as a world community”.
Too late, Al. Environmental activist Osama bin Laden has beaten you to it.
